Portobello, Bacon and Cheese Stuffed Burgers

DSC_0058This burger I concocted last night while I was just playing with flavours. It was delicious! I used my new burger stuffer to make them which was also fun. Try it out! In the photo it’s topped with my Kaleslaw, and my Squishy Buns which you can find both recipes in my upcoming book. It was absolutely delish!

Portobello, Bacon and Cheese Stuffed Burgers

A Savory Cheese Burger with a surprise in the center


  •  2 Lbs Ground Beef
  •  ¼ diced Onion
  • Salt and Pepper to taste
  • 1 Tsp Garlic Powder
  • 1 Tsp Chili Powder
  • 1 Egg
  • 1 Portobello Mushroom diced
  • 4 Pre Cooked Slices of Bacon
  • 1 Cup of Grated Cheddar Cheese
  • Dash of Olive Oil


  1. On medium high, fry the mushrooms in a bit of oil until par cooked.  Put aside.
  2. In a bowl, Mix the beef, onion, spices and egg until combined well.
  3. Divide beef into 8 parts. Place 1 part into the burger stuffer, Top with 1 slice of bacon, some mushroom and cheese. Top with another part of burger and press.
  4. Fry in pan on medium heat until fully cooked. Serve Hot!
